sudo nano /etc/lynx.lss

Put # in front of

normal: normal: lightgray:black
default: normal: white:black

Open a terminal in Ubuntu 8.10 / Edit / Profile Preferences / Colors:

Mark “Use colors from system theme”

In the General tab:

Remove mark in Use the system fixed width font, and use Monospace 10.
